The Backup option is grayed out, how do I create a backup?

The option is grayed out if you have the database open. You must close the database before you can back it up.

Close the database.
Click on Setup.
Click Database|Backup|Datafiles.
Highlight the schedule you want and click Backup Now.

How do I get into an archive of our database if no user has rights to open the file?
