The recommendation for anyone using discontinued legacy software, is to replace that software with an active supported software solution. However, this is not always an available option in a timeline you are comfortable with. This is the reason that incrediblySmart offers Extended Limited Support Agreements (ELSA) for the AICE,BD Protect, RedBat and Respond software from BD Diagnostics/ICPA to help customers with the continued use and training of these discontinued and abandoned programs through telephone, email and remote support, until a solution can be discovered and put into place. Support includes password resets, installation/re-installation, HR data transfer/download, report creation assistance and more.
Support can be provided through a range of services from hourly one-time support, or through Extended Limited Support Agreements in 30-day, 90-day, 6-month or annual agreements.
These support agreements are intended as a stop-gap measure to provide for support until suitable replacement software can be obtained.
Over the lifetime of business intelligence applications, your needs will change, or inevitably applications get retired and replaced with newer, more functional systems. With some applications, the data contained within the program must be moved when the application is replaced, for this reason incrediblySmart offers data extraction and migration services to assist you. When the AICE, BD Protect, RedBat and Respond applications were retired at the end of 2012, we started business to assist customers in the transition, and have since expanded that knowledge to other applications.
We are learning what it takes to move data between an understood set of applications, using this knowledge, we’re planning on developing our own tool for these types of data migrations, the application will be called Clever, and may be available for licensing in 2016.
Documentation Design and Application Testing
There is always small stuff that a business, like yours, shouldn’t sweat internally, like creating internal support documents to provide help to your staff on specific tasks. This is work like updating product user manuals or extracting pages to create task specific help files, either for printed or electronic documents.
Additional computer services include testing your applications in a variety of operating system environments to see if an upgrade will prevent an application from loading, or performing necessary work. In some cases you may want to know if your legacy application can be made to run on a different platform than it was designed for – like Linux, or OSX, or by using other virtual machines. Your IT department or provider may not have the experience that our team can provide.
